An adventure trekking in the Everest region: Three passes

Everest three passes trek is an adventure in the Everest region to enjoy the amazing beauty of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Pumori and many highest peaks. Starting the trek from 2860 masl (Lukla) you will reach to 5535masl (Kongma La Pass). The changing altitude is the main region of challenge you admire. The higher the altitude increases the risk of altitude sickness. Besides altitude sickness you will enjoy entire journey with amazing mountains, landscapes, local villages, local food, rivers and biodiversity f Khumbu region.

The trekking entitled Everest three passes is the best trekking to explore Kongma La Pass (5535m), Cho La Pass (5420m) and Renjo La Pass (5340m) along with best scenery of Mount Everest. It is 21 days trekking in Nepal. Here is the itinerary of Everest three passes trek.

Everest three passes trek itinerary

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)

Your trekking begins with your arrival in Nepal. Trekking package includes your pick up drop and accommodation in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing & trek preparation (1,300m/4,264 ft)

To make your trekking more interesting we will have sightseeing in Kathmandu. The sightseeing includes Pasupatinath, Shyambhunath, Bouddhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. After sightseeing we will do preparation of trek by packing all the required materials and briefing of the trek by the guide. You can do your lastminute shopping as well.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft) & trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft), 3-4 hours walk

We will take early morning flight to Lukla and start our trekking towards Phakding. It takes around 3,4 hours to reach Phakding from Lukla.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft), 5-6 hours walk

Trekking from Phakding to Namche Bazaar is challenging with continuous uphills and stone stairs on pine trial. It takes around 6 hours to reach Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

Walking to higher elevation without taking rest in high altitude is difficult and increase the chance of altitude sickness. Thus, we will stay in Namche bazzar to adjust our body with increasing altitude and lower oxygen level.

Day 06: Trek to Thame, (3800m), 3 to 4 hours

After having breakfast in Namche we will trek towards Thame following the bank of DudhKoshi. The amazing view of mountainsand landscape make the trekking more interesting.

Day 07: Trek to Marlung, (4137m), 4 to 5 hours

Day by day we will reach the higher altitude passing different small Sherpa villages. Todays trekking will be up to Marlung village. We should walk slowly to maintain our health.

Day 08: Trek to Lungdeng (4600m), 3 to 4 hours

Leaving Marlung we will trek to Lungdeng another interesting village of Khumbu region.

Day 09: Trek to Renjo- La (17,929ft / 5465m) to Gokyo Lake (4800m)

After trekking 8 days we will reach the first pass called Renjo La pass connecting to amazing landscape. We will reach Gokyo lake passing the Renjo La pass.

Day 10: Explore Day at Gokyo Lake

The amazing glacier feed lake at 4800 masl is amazing creation of god. WE will stay in Gokyo lake for acclimatization and enjoy the beauty of Gokyo lakes.

Day 11: Hike to Gokyo RI (5,330m/17,483ft), and trek to Thaknak

Waking up early in the morning we will climb the Gokyo Ri and enjoy the sunrise view. We will have our breakfast in Gokyo lake and trek towards Thaknak passing different ice crevices.

Day 12: Trek to Cho-la Pass (5367m/17604ft) to Dzongla (4,850m/15908ft), 5-6 hrs walk

Todays trekking will lead to Cho La Pass at 5367 masl and enjoy the mountain view then emjoy the journey to Dzongla.

Day 13: Trek to Gorakshep (5,160m/16,929ft), 5-6 hrs walk

We will start walking downhill and reach Gorekshep the last destination of Everest base camp trek.

Day 14: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,357m/17,575ft) and return to Lobuche for overnight. 6 to 7 hrs

We will hike to Everest base camp enjoy the mountain view and return down to Gorekshep. After having breakfast in Gorekshep we will trek towards Lobuche. Trekking downhill is quite easier than uphill.

Day 15: Lobuche – Kongma La (5,535m/18,159ft) – Chhukung (4,730m/15,518ft): 6-7 hrs

Today’s trekking is to the highest altitude of Everest three passes trek, Kongma La pass at 5535m. We will enjoy the wonderful landscape of Everest region and trek towards Chhukung.

Day 16: Trek to Tyangboche (3,867m/12684ft), 4-5 hrs walk

After having breakfast with enjoying the amazing view of Island peak, we will trek towards Tyangboche. Also, we will visit Tyangboche monastery and take rest.

Day 17: Trek to Monjo ((2680M/8791ft), 5-6 hrs walk

Around 5,6 hours of trekking towards downhill takes us to Monjo. We will pass Namche bazzar before reaching Monjo.

Day 18: Trek to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft), 6-7 hrs walk

We will trek pass the long distance around 25km from Monjo to Lukla. This is the last day of trekking to Everest three pass.

Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)

Depending on our flight time we will reach to the airport and fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 20: Leisure at Kathmandu

We will take leisure at Kathmandu or even this day acts as buffer day for delay of Lukla flight.

Day 21: Departure from Kathmandu

The trek competes with your departure from Nepal. Company member will drop you to airport for your departure.
